The Albert Cuypmarkt, Amsterdam

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

Albert Cuyp market, cheese stand, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

The Albert Cuypmarkt in Amsterdam, The Netherlands is one of the largest daytime markets in Europe. You can find almost everything here and for great prices. Definitely a great place for unique finds. The highlight is the many awesome fresh food stands, think of seafood, fruits and vegetables, but also nuts, cheese, cured meats, etc. A chef's and foodie’s dream!

One of the must-visit stands is Rudi’s Stroopwafels stand. A stroopwafel is a Dutch waffle cookie with fresh caramel in the middle and it is taking over the world! There’s nothing like a warm freshly made stroopwafel that they make right in front of you to see and experience. For the stroopwafel fans out there, they even offer a supersize version that you can’t get anywhere else. Worth a try.

** Experience The Albert Cuypmarkt at Home **

To get a taste of the the Albert Cuypmarkt at home, order some stroopwafels from Daelmans. Daelmans is a Dutch family bakery that sells authentic stroopwafels worldwide. (Caramel is the traditional flavor)

Tip: Best way to enjoy the stroopwafel is to warm it up over a steaming hot cup of tea or coffee. Simply rest the stroopwafel on top of your hot cup. Wait for about 2 minutes to let the caramel melt a little and enjoy!

Until the next departure!
