Sailing around the island of St Maarten is an amazing way to relax and experience the Carribean. On the "Round the Island Tour" with Adventure Sports Sailing, you get to spend the day on a beautiful catamaran sailing all along the coast of St Maarten, both the French and Dutch side. Along the way you'll stop at Creole Rock and Tintamarre.
Creole Rock is a great place for snorkeling. Sea urchin, fire corals and lots of fish species are some of the things you may discover. Tintamarre is a beautiful small island that's a nature reserve. Wonderful place to enjoy the white sandy beach and swim in the clear turquoise blue water. If you snorkel you may see sea turtles! Please see the video below of my lucky experience. (Keep in mind that it's not a guarantee since it's a nature reserve and the turtles live freely)
On the catamaran Spellbound, Captain Ian and his crew (including Ginger, the captain's dog) will take great care of everyone on board. They are very friendly, laid-back, and accommodating. Beverages on board include rum punch, bottled water, and cans of beer. Pieces of cheese are offered as a snack. The crew prepares a delicious lunch served family style that includes salad, pasta salad, chicken, and ribs.
The catamaran has multiple areas where you can hang out. Whether you'd like to be laying out in the sun at the front or sit in the cool shade on the covered deck in the back, you are free to move around. There is also a small kitchen, lounge area, and toilet inside the cabin. In case you need any snorkeling/swimming accessories like noodles, fins, mask, etc, they are usually able to accommodate.
Definitely an amazing experience. Until the next departure!
