Pioneer Woman Boarding House Hotel, Pawhuska, OK

Updated: Feb 22, 2022

Pioneer Woman Boarding House Hotel Lobby and check in Pawhuska Oklahoma

The Pioneer Woman Boarding House is a luxurious 5-star like hotel with excellent guest service and a quaint small town feel. Truly one of the best places to stay in Oklahoma. It's located in a lovely small town called Pawhuska, a town made famous by the Pioneer Woman's blog and cooking show on Food Network. The Boarding House has been open since 2018 and ever since then the rooms book up fast. There are 8 rooms total, or better called suites, and every suite has its very own distinctive style. All designed and personally decorated by Ree and Ladd Drummond.

The suites are all quite spacious (468-814 sq ft) with "The Photograph Room" being the smallest and "The Drugstore Room" the largest. See all the beautiful rooms here. The suites have high quality touches like automated blinds, fancy bedding, a large 4K TV, and more. Each suite consists of: a seating/living area, sleeping area, large bathroom, and an office/desk area with "Boarding House" pens and correspondence you can use.

Most of the suites have a big bathroom that includes: a bath tub, walk-in shower, two separate sinks, two individual toilet rooms, and a vanity area. Pure bathroom heaven! A special touch from the Pioneer Woman herself is that there is a curling iron in every bathroom.

Excellent Service

Besides the beautiful luxurious suites, what makes this place amazing is the 5-star service! The charm of the Boarding House is that with only 8 rooms it almost feels like a very fancy bed & breakfast where the staff is able to offer personalized service and include a lot of extra special touches to make you feel right at home. You can tell their priority is to make sure that all the guests have the best experience.

For example, a few days before check-in the staff will contact you to confirm and check if you have any preferences or wishes upon arrival. Would you like some PW's cinnamon rolls or sticky buns waiting for you in the room when you get there? A bottle of wine? They will take care of that for you! How about dinner reservations at The Mercantile? They will get that arranged. Being able to have reservations made at the PW restaurants is a major perk because that is only available to Boarding House guests. Even when it's busy, you get to skip the line and get seated almost right away.

More Wonderful Boarding House Amenities

Other wonderful amenities included in your stay are: the personalized morning coffee, turn-down service, mercantile package delivery, and in-room dining. The evening turn-down service includes a delivery of freshly baked cookies. Such a nice touch!

The complimentary personalized morning coffee is a treat for all the coffee lovers out there and a perfect start to the day! You get to pick your favorite coffee plus time of delivery and it will be brought to your room in the morning. The coffee comes with a freshly baked scone and muffin from The Mercantile bakery.

If you love Pioneer Woman's recipes you will love all the food they have to offer. The in-room dining menu consists of meals that are also served at The Mercantile so it's perfect if you want to try the food but prefer to stay in. The in-room menu offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Coffee and beverages like soda, wine and beer. Also items from the bakery are available to order.

Pawhuska

Over the years Pawhuska has grown into a Pioneer Woman empire that, besides The Boarding House, is also home to the famous PW Mercantile, P-Town Pizza, and Charlie's Sweet Shop. Pawhuska is a very small town meaning all of the PW businesses are literally less than a minute walk away from each other! Which is very convenient and adds to the small town charm. While visiting, keep in mind that like most small towns, the majority of businesses are closed on Sundays, including the Mercantile, P-Town Pizza, and Charlie's Sweet Shop. Also during the week a lot of businesses close earlier at night than most cities. So plan accordingly.

The PW businesses, the Drummond Ranch, and more attractions in Pawhuska will be featured in future posts. Speaking of things to do and places to stay, check out my post about Pawhuska!

Complimentary Happy Hour

When you stay at the Boarding House you have the option to enjoy a complimentary nightly happy hour reception from 5:00-6:30PM. Complimentary wine, cider, beer, and charcuterie board. The social happy hour is held on the second floor in the common area right by the entrance to the balcony. It's a great way to get to know the other guests! I got to enjoy some Chardonnay from Napa Valley, met a couple of very nice people and funny enough we ended up touring each other’s rooms! Haha. It was such a fun experience.

Definitely a wonderful hotel to visit! A charming mix of modern luxury and traditional southern charm. Perfect for a weekend trip or getaway. If you're a Pioneer Woman fan this place is everything you'd imagine and more.
